Abstract:Diimide-diol monomers containing aliphatic spacer N,N′-bis (2-hydroxyethyl) biphenyl tetracarboxylic diimide and N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)benzophenone tetracarboxylic diimide were synthesized by a nucleophilic substitution reaction that involved ethanolamine and commercially available aromatic dianhydrides. The structures of the monomers were characterized by FT-IR and 1 H-NMR. Processable polyimides (PIs) containing aliphatic spacer were synthesized from these new diols and 4,4′-dichlorodiphenyl sulfone/4,4′-d… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
