Synthesis of Chromone‐Spiroindolinone‐Cyclopentene Derivatives through Phosphine‐Catalyzed (3+2) Annulation of Morita‐Baylis‐Hillman Carbonates with Oxindole‐Chromones

Abstract: Various multifunctional chromone-spiroindolinone-cyclopentene derivatives were synthesized through a phosphinecatalyzed (3 + 2) annulation of Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) carbonates with oxindole-chromones in generally high yields with good to excellent diastereoselectivities. The synthetic method has several advantages such as mild reaction con-ditions, wide substrate scope, high yields and good stereoselectivity.
