Units. -The title compound is prepared by solid state reaction of Li2CO3, PbO, CuO, and H3BO3 in air (550-650°C, 2-3 d). Li2Pb2CuB4O10 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD). The structure contains isolated [CuB4O10] 6units formed by distorted planar CuO4 squares and triangular BO3 groups.
