T cells and liver fibrosis

Abstract: Liver fibrosis develops from the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix in the liver caused by chronic liver inflammation or various chronic injuries, and it eventually develops into liver cirrhosis. The process of liver fibrosis is closely related to the immune response, and increasing evidence reveals the role of T lymphocytes, including Th1, Th2, Th17, regulatory T cells, and mucosa-associated invariant T cells, in liver fibrosis.
