Tamarillo Consumption Associated with Increased Acetylcholinesterase Activity and Improved Oxidative Stress Markers in Farmers Exposed to Daily Pesticide-related Activities in Baturiti, Bali, Indonesia

Abstract: BACKGROUND: The behavior of pesticide use that does not meet the standards will increase the risk of pesticide intoxication among farmers. The main content of pesticides, namely, organophosphates and carbamate, has been widely known to be the main culprit of the negative side effect through inhibition of the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme. However, this effect theoretically could be reduced by exogenous antioxidants properties provided in tamarillo fruit. AIM: This study aims to determine the effect … Show more

“…18 Excessive physical exercise is very influential to the immune system because it is extremely sensitive to stress, both physiological and psychological condition, and thus potentially could be used as a parameter of stress due to excessive physical exercise. [19][20][21] The i mplication o f our study result is that it can be beneficial to regularly do blood examinations in overtrained athletes or athletes who received intensive physical exercise to monitor the impact of excessive physical exercise on their health. The limitation of our study is the relatively limited sample size for each group, and we did not examine the baseline of HSC and CD4+ levels in the treatment group before the intervention.…”

“…Mekanisme kerja flavonoid sebagai antibakteri melalui mekanisme menghambat sintesis asam nukleat, menghambat fungsi membran sel dan menghambat metabolisme energi. 11 Hasil pengukuran rerata diameter daerah hambat (DDH) sediaan tetes telinga ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) terhadap bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC-9027 setelah dilakukan lima kali pengulangan didapatkan rerata yang sama yaitu sebesar 0.00 mm pada masing-masing konsentrasi 1%, 3%, dan 5%. Berdasarkan kriteria CLSI (2017), rerata DDH sediaan tetes telinga ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) pada konsentrasi 1%, 3% dan 5% dengan pembanding antibakteri Chloramphenicol, tergolong bersifat resisten.…”
