Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh langsung motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi siswa dan kemampuan teknologi digital serta peran kemampuan teknologi digital dalam memediasi pengaruh motivasi terhadap prestasi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode kausalitas. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA yang ada di Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang dan Bekasi (Jabodetabek) dengan jumlah 200 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian kuesioner, dokumentasi dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis SEM ( Structural Equation Model) dengan menggunakan Program SPSS 16.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh langsung motivasi terhadap prestasi siswa adalah positif dan signifikan dengan nilai p value sebesar 0,00. Motivasi mempengaruhi prestasi sebesar 38,50%. Pengaruh langsung motivasi terhadap kemampuan teknologi digital adalah positif dan signifikan dengan nilai p value sebesar 0,00. Motivasi mempengaruhi kemampuan teknologi digital sebesar 47,40%. Pengaruh langsung kemampuan teknologi digital terhadap prestasi siswa adalah positif dan signifikan dengan nilai p value sebesar 0,00. Kemampuan teknologi digital mempengaruhi prestasi sebesar 51,8%. Pengaruh tidak langsung motivasi terhadap prestasi siswa melalui motivasi belajar adalah positif signifikan dengan nilai p value sebesar 0,00. Motivasi mempengaruhi prestasi dengan dimediasi oleh teknologi digital sebesar 0,1825. Kemampuan teknologi merupakan variabel mediasi pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi siswa. Pengaruh motivasi siswa terhadap kinerja siswa lebih tinggi bila dimediasi oleh kemampuan teknologi digital, dibandingkan motivasi siswa secara langsung terhadap kinerja siswa.

Institutional reform, technology adoption and redistribution: a political economy perspective

We examine technology adoption and growth in a political economy framework where two alternative mechanisms of redistribution are on the menu of choice for the economy. One of these is a lump-sum transfer given to agents in the economy. The other is in the form of expenditure directed towards institutional reform aimed at bringing about a reduction in the cost of technology adoption in the presence of uncertainty. The choice over these mechanisms is examined under three alternative approaches to collective decision making, namely a voting mechanism, and social planning with a Benthamite and Rawlsian social welfare function respectively. We find that the extent of uncertainty, and initial inequality, working through the political economy mechanism, have a positive impact on long run average wealth levels in the economy in all settings. All economies converge to the same inequality and growth rates in the long run; however, the speed of transition is fastest with the voting mechanism and slowest in the case of social planning with the Rawlsian social welfare function. Transitional inequality is highest in the Rawlsian framework, suggesting that egalitarian objectives in collective decision making do not necessarily correspond to egalitarian outcomes for the economy.

This study follows an interpretivist approach and showcases five testimonials of technology usage in everyday life, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the research also brings forward the perspectives of 31 other Brazilian citizens. The informants are Brazilian Master's level students who were on an exchange program to Portugal, at a major Portuguese university. Brazil, and in particular Rio de Janeiro, the focus of this study, are seen to have talented people and to be also open to technology-on the developing side as well as on the user side. Trust issues still existconcerning e-commerce-and may indeed be pervasive in society. Brazil is currently undergoing a profound social and economic crisis, which it is trying to recover from. Indeed, the general lack of safety and security felt in Rio de Janeiro may even be a reason for the popularity of home and work deliveries-so that citizens will not have to travel-with travel constituting an additional risk which many may prefer to avoid. Thus, technology (a diverse set of apps) may be serving an additional purpose-that of ensuring security in daily life in Brazil.
