Testable baryogenesis in seesaw models

Abstract: Abstract:We revisit the production of baryon asymmetries in the minimal type I seesaw model with heavy Majorana singlets in the GeV range. In particular we include "washout" effects from scattering processes with gauge bosons, Higgs decays and inverse decays, besides the dominant top scatterings. We show that in the minimal model with two singlets, and for an inverted light neutrino ordering, future measurements from SHiP and neutrinoless double beta decay could in principle provide sufficient information to p… Show more

“…Such peak searches have been performed and are known to reach deep into the region [33] where leptogenesis is feasible in the νMSM [15,34,35]. An interesting point in this context is the extremely good mass resolution, of order of few MeV, which would allow to test the leptogenesis hypothesis [36] in part of the parameter space [37][38][39] if any HNLs are discovered. The…”

“…In [11], we pointed out that in the region of large mixings the ratio of mixings to electron and muons of the heavy states are essentially fixed by the PMNS matrix, and is therefore very sensitive to its unknown CP phases. In this paper, our aim is to quantify the CP discovery potential of such measurement.…”
