“…Relational maintenance is how individuals sustain ties with others, particularly for the purpose of future access to resources and support, which sometimes involves sustaining various relational conditions: keeping a relationship in existence, keeping a relationship in a specified state or condition, keeping a relationship in a satisfactory condition, and/or repairing a relationship (Dindia & Canary, 1993).
