“…Protein elicitors are the most important type of elicitors that activate host plant defense responses (Shen et al 2019 ) to enhance disease resistance (Ruiz et al 2018 ; Mao et al 2010 ; Wang et al 2012 ; Qiu et al 2009 ) and insect resistance (Li et al 2020 ). They also stimulate plant metabolism to regulate plant growth (Darwati et al 2018 ).
