There had been many studies conducted to investigate the benefits of Mind Mapping (MM) in the writing process and Three- Step-Interview (TSI ) in the speaking process, this study set out to investigate the effectiveness of an integrated technique which was the combination of MM and TSI in teaching writing. This technique was intended to facilitate the students with individual and group brainstorming practice and to help create another teaching procedure which could effectively solve the students' writing problem, especially in generating and organizing ideas in the pre-writing process. The subject of this study was 29 students who took Intermediate Writing subject at English Department Faculty of Education, Lampung University-Indonesia . The pretest and posttest were administered before and after the treatment. The data was analyzed by means of the paired sample t-test. The result shows that the students' writing ability significantly improved subsequent to the treatment. It also reveals that the most significant improvements were those of the writing content and organization aspects. The results are discussed in relation to relevant previous research findings.

Abstract. Improving the quality of education through the research of classroom action research which aim to improved learning activities and learning outcomes of learner through applied the learning method of mind mapping in structure and function of animal tissue. The subject of this researched was learners of XI IPA 3 SMAN 1 Pinrang which total 48 learners of school year 2017/2018. Qualitative data which investigated was learning activities observed by observer since learning process, while the quantitative data obtained from the score of making mind mapping, essay test and learning evaluation test. The result of this researched showed that there is enhancement of learning activities on the 1st cycle showed the percentage of learners was 72% for at all indicators which was observed, while on the 2nd cycle enhancement learning activities percentage of learners was 100%. For at all indicators which was observed. The outcomes of learner’s data obtained in the 1st cycle with total the learners not complete was 18 people with percentage 38%, while the outcomes of learners complete was 30 people with percentage 63%. While the outcomes of learners in the 2nd cycle increased with the learners not complete was 6 people with 13%, while the outcomes of learners complete was 42 people with percentage 88%. As technology become commonplace in the world of education, it is important to always increase the knowledge of how these technologies can have an impact on students' learning ability. This study aimed to determine the impact of the use of mind mapping application on learning achievement. The method used is a quasi-experiment research, using design non-equivalent control group design. This study used two groups of the experiment group and the control group. The experiment group was treated using a mind map and the untreated control group. Data were collected before and after the learning. The results of research that the mean scores learning outcomes experiment group was higher than the control group
