The article is devoted to the disclosure of psycholinguistic aspects of comparative research, in particular the specifics of speech and thinking activities of the comparativist in the application of comparative content analysis of Ukrainian and English scientific pedagogical terminology. Theoretical aspects of comparative content analysis in comparative pedagogical research are revealed, which consist in: objectivity of system and quantitative description of the available content of the term; counting the semantic units represented in the information array that are determined; objectivity of conclusions and rigour of a procedure; quantification of text processing with the subsequent interpretation of the results of the analytical review of the phenomenon under study. It is determined that the speech-thinking activity of a comparativist is characterised by a step-by-step and complex of complementary, interconnected operations, which consist of the following components: motivational-target, cognitive-semantic, reproductive-activity, creative-active, evaluative-reflexive. It was determined that the methodological aspects of the application of comparative content analysis are the necessity to separate units for analysis, the formation of a sample that will ensure the authenticity of the interpretation of the concept in the domestic research-pedagogical thesaurus.

Over the past two decades, research on the central role of teachers' social-emotional competencies (SEC) in their teaching abilities has increased rapidly. However, there is not much research that focuses on increasing the social-emotional competence of pre-service teachers. This study aims to explore the impact of pre-service teachers' SECon their English language teaching to young learners at the elementary level. Investigating how pre-service teachers develop their SEC at the elementary school level. This research used a qualitative method with seven prospective Islamic elementary school teachers as participants. Data collection in the research used observations and semi-structured interviews with prospective Islamic elementary school teachers who taught English to young students in fifth grade at the elementary level. Inductive data analysis was carried out in this research with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The research results show that pre-service teachers' social-emotional competencies are critical in avoiding burnout, improving well-being, and creating a positive learning environment. Pre-service teachers can begin to develop their social-emotional competencies by cultivating self-awareness. When pre-service teachers are aware of their emotions, they feel more in control of students in the classroom and make better decisions during the teaching and learning process.

This research is focused on content analysis of character education potrayed in English texbooks based on the Indonesia 2013 curriculum to find out the types of character education values in English textbooks and how educational character values were included into English textbooks for secondary schools. In fact, moral degradation among the youth in the modern era is becoming trends. Therefore, in this study, researchers want to focus on content analysis of character education potrayed in English texbooks based on the Indonesia 2013 curriculum based on 18 character values issued by Indonesian government. In this study, the researchers used a content analysis technique under the formula of qualitative research method. The result of the study showed that the total frequency of character value based on first semester that emerged in the textbook 1 gained 73 times or percentage (39%). The value of related to self was the most frequent value with 40 times. Then, it was followed by related to others with 17 times. The values have small proportion are related to nation and additional values; the character not existed in English textbook 1 represented first semester is related to God. The total frequency of character value based on first semester that emerged in the textbook 2 was 115 times or percentage (61%), the value of related to self was the most frequent value with 72 times. The values have small proportion are related to others, related to environment, related to nation, related to good and additional values. These findings lead to the conclusion that the upcoming textbooks should pay attention on the character values official 2013 curriculum for students in secondary school contain a lot of character education
