The NH 3 −SCR process could provide cobenefits for VOCs abatement from industrial sources. Ceria-based catalysts have received considerable attention for NO x removal at low-medium temperatures. In this study, the reaction behaviors of the simultaneous control of NO x and methanol over the Sb 0.5 CeZr 2 O x catalyst were investigated. It was found that the presence of methanol reduced NO x conversion at low temperatures, while the methanol mineralization rate was promoted in the SCR reaction environment. This effect weakened as the temperature increased, and both NO x and methanol could be effectively removed (with efficiencies more than 90%) within 250−350 °C at a CH 3 OH/NO ratio of no more than 1:1. NO adsorption and oxidation were greatly suppressed by methanol, thereby inhibiting the SCR reaction via the Langmuir−Hinshelwood (L-H) mechanism. Meanwhile, the formation of formamide via NH 3 and intermediates of methanol oxidation was also responsible for the deactivation effect on the SCR reaction at low temperatures. The presence of NO was found to be the main reason for enhanced methanol deep oxidation as NO can promote the rehealing process of active oxygen species.

MnOx−CeO2/P‐CA catalysts were prepared via incipient wetness impregnation of Mn(NO3)2 ⋅ 4H2O and Ce(NO3)3 ⋅ 6H2O over phosphorus‐doped carbon aerogels (P‐CA) for selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3 (NH3−SCR). The results show that P doping on carbon support significantly promotes the NH3−SCR performance of MnOx−CeO2/P‐CA catalysts. P modification can improve the hydrophilicity of carbon support and facilitate the dispersion of MnOx−CeO2 components on carbon surface, which enhances the electronic interactions between MnOx and CeO2. The optimal catalyst 10 %MnOx−CeO2/P‐CA shows higher surface acidity, more Mn4+ and Ce3+, and a larger amount of surface chemisorbed oxygen (Oα) than that of 10 %MnOx−CeO2/CA catalyst. As a result, even though in the company of SO2, more NO can be adsorbed and oxidized over the 10 %MnOx−CeO2/P‐CA catalyst to generate more NO complexes, alleviating the suppression of SO2 on the SCR reaction via Langmuir‐Hinshelwood (L−H) mechanism, and thus the SO2 resistance is enhanced.

Nitrogen capture is a crucial strategy for coping with the environmental crisis arising from continually industrial NO emissions, while it suffers from the generally inefficient aquatic absorbent. This work developed a novel absorbent with favorable gas affinity via using sterically hindered imidazole to regulate the gas–liquid interface of typical K2S2O8 solution, initially achieving an efficiently catalytic absorption of poorly soluble NO. The best catalytic absorption efficiencies increased from 17.83% to 91.90% as compared to traditional one. Moreover, an established absorption kinetic model indicated that both capacity and rate of NO dissolution were increased. The imidazole molecules spontaneously migrated to gas–liquid interface of solution and imparted an additional dissolution impetus to NO. This catalytic absorption method overcoming the conventional NO dissolution limitation in water not only improves commercial NO capture, but also provides a new design of aquatic absorbent for heterogeneous reactions requiring transporting poorly soluble gases in aqueous solvents.
