The effect of geniste on Aβ25–35-induced PC12 cell apoptosis through the JNK-dependent Fas pathway

Abstract: The β-amyloid protein (Aβ) is considered to be the key factor for inducing Alzheimer's disease (AD). In recent years, the neuroprotective effects of genistein have drawn increasing attention. However, the molecular mechanisms of GEN (genistein) against Aβ are unclear. In the present study, we investigated the inhibitory effects of GEN on Aβ25-35-induced apoptosis in cultured PC12 cells and the related signaling pathway. Our data show that GEN significantly inhibited Aβ25-35-induced apoptosis of PC12 cells. GEN… Show more

“…A number of investigators have used Ab 25-35 -treated PC12 cells as important cellular model of AD. [15][16][17][18] In this study, PC12 cells were treated with Ab 25-35 and results showed that Ab 25-35 treatment led to viability inhibition and increase of inammatory response, apoptosis and p-Tau level, predicting the successful establishment of AD model in vitro. This study investigated the neuroprotective effect of berberine and rst validated the interaction between berberine and miR-107/ZNF217 in AD.…”

“…The apoptosis level in cells was measured using an Annexin V−FITC apoptosis detection kit (Beyotime, Shanghai, China) with Annexin V−FITC and propidium iodide (PI) dye. As described in a previous study, 28 cells were cultivated in 6-well plates. The concentrations were set as 1/16 IC 50 , 1/4 IC 50 , and IC 50 .…”
