Abstract:Introduction
It is well established that the exercise pressor reflex contributes to cardiovascular control (e.g. mean arterial pressure (MAP)) during exercise. One arm of the exercise pressor reflex includes the metabolically sensitive group IV afferents (i.e. metaboreflex). The metaboreflex‐induced cardiovascular responses to exercise are incompletely understood, especially in women across the aging spectrum. For example, post‐menopausal women have greater increases in MAP and systemic vascular resistance (SV… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
