The Effect of Revised Bloom’S Taxonomy on Mathematical Problem-Solving Skill

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to show the effect of teaching story problems using revised Bloom's taxonomy on mathematical problem-solving skill. The research uses an experiment method with Randomized Post-Test Only Control Group Design. The sample includes 60 eight-grade students selected through simple random sampling. Data are analyzed by applying t-test to test mean difference previously analyzed using descriptive statistics and data requirements analyses. The normality test uses chisquare test, while th… Show more

“…First, as the primary purpose of education, namely learning how to learn from experience so that the next learning plan becomes meaningful; second, it accommodates students' diversity, especially in terms of learning style to help teachers in planning the improvement of the learning process (Okoye, 2014). According to Bloom, learning outcomes consist of three domains, namely cognitive, affective, and psychomotor (Gulikers, 2004;Irvine, 2017;Kasilingam et al, 2014;Retno et al, 2019;Jacoba van der Wal & van der Wal, 2003;Zulfadli, 2017). In the learning practice, most teachers do not carry out a comprehensive evaluation.…”

“…It also involves the use of as many senses of perception as possible. Abstraction to the higher levels is possible when initiated from all the senses to enhance understanding (Retno et al, 2019). The senses of one child when capitalised on, are effective; but when more than one child come together to learn and support one another, learning increases exponentially as each of these learners is forced to see the problem and the solution from at least two perspectives (Romano & Woods, 2017.…”

“…Oleh itu, penggunaan Taksonomi Bloom bertujuan untuk memastikan masalah yang dijana oleh guru adalah jelas, tepat, bersifat kritikal dan kreatif. Sebagai tambahan, Taksonomi Bloom juga dirujuk oleh guruguru dalam proses menjana objektif pembelajaran, memilih kaedah pembelajaran dan kaedah pentaksiran dalam sesi pengajaran (Retno et al, 2019).…”
