“…Our study is the first to our knowledge to analyse the exhaustiveness of all marathon finishers' performances in the three major European (Berlin, Paris and London, which were not previously analysed) and three American marathons. Previous studies have mostly analysed American marathons including Chicago, Boston and New York that are analysed in the present paper [9] , [11] [15] , but they have only included the performances of the top 3 males and females finishers as well as the 25 th -, 100 th -, and 300 th - place finishers [11] , [13] [15] . In the present study we analysed the total number of finishers in order to exhaustively quantify the effect of climate on runners from all performance levels.…”
