Students’ character building will be influenced by the school environment as well as their physical education (PE) teachers’ performance. The aim of this research is to analyse and verify the influence of school environment and PE teacher performance on elementary students’ character building. There are 20 elementary schools in Semarang, including 10 public schools and 10 private schools that are used as research samples. The research samples are taken based on cluster random sampling, which is divided into five sectors in Semarang. The qualitative method is applied in this research. The finding shows that the physical education subject gives significant advantages to the development of the students as well as supporting the students’ daily activity based on evaluations by the teacher, school headmaster, and parents. The conclusion attributed to the research is that having a supportive school environment, including facilities and infrastructure, a good proportion of objective competition, a suitable physical education teaching model that is in line with the curriculum, and a supportive and well-competent teacher working in a linear field will have a positive impact on students’ character building. This impact will be visible not only in school but also when the students are home as well

Masalah moralitas selalu menjadi perdebatan di bidang pendidikan. Hal ini dengan alasan bahwa sekolah pada umumnya hanya akan menumbuhkan pembelajaran tanpa menitikberatkan pada karakter. Khususnya dalam karakter anak, mereka harus lebih dekat dalam penumbuhan pengalaman informatif di sekolah, salah satunya dalam pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani. Oleh karena itu, kajian penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan literature review dalam penguatan kepribadian anak usia dini melalui pendidikan jasmani. Dengan memanfaatkan database google scholar. Menggunakan kata kunci pada google scholar “penguatan karakter” dan “pendidikan jasmani”. Artikel yang dianalisis terbit sejak tahun 2018 sampai dengan 2022, menggunakan kriteria inklusi sebagai berikut: jurnal nasional maupun internasional, artikel minimal 5 tahun terakhir, populasi/sampel/subjek penelitian adalah anak usia 6-8 tahun. Artikel yang dikaji berjumlah 14 artikel dari jurnal Internasional dan nasional. Kesimpulan dari 14 artikel yang di review menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan karakter akan diselesaikan dengan penyesuaian yang dilakukan dalam pendidikan jasmani dimana mampu membentengi karakter jujur, sikap sportif, disiplin, dan lain-lain.

This study aimed to analyze the teacher's role in developing the character of Islamic Junior High School students and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in developing the character of Islamic Junior High School students. This research uses field research with qualitative research type. Using methodological (phenomenological) and scientific (psychology, sociology, and religious) approach. Sources of data come from primary and secondary data. Methods of collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. And the data management and analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and verification and conclusion. The results showed that the character development of Islamic Junior High School students is carried out through the head of the madrasa and the teacher. The role of the madrasah principal focuses on the control function, supervisory function, and management function. In contrast, the role of the teacher focuses on the role that is applicative, namely the inspiration, communicator, facilitator, executor, evaluator, and religious approach.
