“…Pleomorphic adenoma represented 43.6% of benign neoplastic disease followed by Warthin's tumour representing 35.9%. Pleomorphic adenoma represented considerably fewer cases in our study than in the reported literature, with the common statistic quoted as 70%‐80% . However, there is evidence that the percentage of pleomorphic adenoma in relation to the percentage of Warthin's tumour is declining over time .…”

“…considerably fewer cases in our study than in the reported literature, with the common statistic quoted as 70%-80%. 1,2,13 However, there is evidence that the percentage of pleomorphic adenoma in relation to the percentage of Warthin's tumour is declining over time. 13 There is little evidence to suggest why this may be, but theories include the ageing population, who are more likely to present with Warthin's tumours, and the increasing availability of MRI leading to incidental findings of these slow-growing tumours.…”

“…Der häufigste gutartige Tumor ist das pleomorphe Adenom, welches in 61,1-71 % der Fälle vorkommt. Die Inzidenz des zweithäufigsten Tumors der Parotis, dem Warthin-Tumor, variiert zwischen 22 und 38,9 % [7,8].…”
