“…Therefore, we concluded from the fluorescence results that the TEMPO-SNPs and BSA complexed. Several previous works on the interaction of BSA with Ag nanoparticles [38] has also reported similar quenching.…”

“…Quantitative and qualitative analysis on the impact of Ag NPs on proteins can further aid in the exploration of exact molecular mechanism of toxicity induced by it. Spectroscopic and simulation analysis of Ag NPs and Ag + ions interaction with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human serum albumin (HSA) shown obvious toxic effect on protein itself by triggering significant change in its 3D structure as increase in alpha helix content and decrease in beta sheet content [210,231,232]. BSA or major blood serum protein has found to significantly reduce the antibacterial and cytotoxic ability of Ag NPs [233,234].Cysteine (a thiol containing amino acid) exhibit higher affinity for Ag + ions which affects their toxicity [219].…”

“…Preliminary experiments were performed considering the possible existence of an inner filter effect (IFE) which is caused by the absorption of ligand during the excitation and emission radiation processes. The sum of the ligand absorption at 280 nm (excitation wavelength) and 334 nm (emission wavelength) could cause less than 5% error, so IFE was negligible here [49,50].…”
