Introduction: Stunting is the public health problem in the world, stunting will affect to child’s growth and development. This study aimed to analyze factors affecting commitment and ability of families to detect child development.Methods: A Cross sectional study in 130 respondents in public health center of Surabaya which fill of the questionnaire via google form, online research questionnaire collection with anonymously collected through social media, namely Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook which was conducted in June - September 2020. Data collection was performed using chi square and multivariate logistic regression with P value < 0.05.Results: The dominant factors affected commitment in early detection of stunting was community resources with a value of P = 0.006; Exp (B) = 1,948; CI = 0.888 - 4.272, this shows that community resources affect commitment 1-4 times compared to other variables. Supporting was dominant factors that affected ability to detect early stunting, a value of P = 0.000; Exp (B) = 11,827; CI 1.757-79.610, this shows that supporting affects the ability 1.7 - 79 times compared to other factors.Conclusion: Commitment and willingness behavior in early detection of stunting in children is an important role that every parent must have with the full support of the family. The main factor affecting family commitment is community resources and the main factor in the willingness to early detection is support, both support from family, community and all parties involved in handling stunting.
