Adolescence and gadget are inseparable these days. This research aimed at describing the characteristics of gadget user and social-religious aspect influence. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The researchers took a role as an observer dan data collector. This research was conducted on Junior High School X. It took 39 male students as the subject. The data collection was done by distributing the questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of 14 items. The data obtained were arranged based on the discussion category. The findings explained: (1) the characteristics of adolescences in Junior High School X as the gadget user, gadget ownership characteristics, usage duration, how to obtain internet access, internet use, the most used application; (2) the influence of gadget use on the social life such as pornographic content, social interaction, studying concentration, and religious aspect of the adolescence. This research concludes that, based on the characteristics of the users, the gadget provides both negative and positive impacts. Furthermore, it is important to have attention and guidance by the related stakeholders to be concerned about the mental health of the adolescence as well as the social-religious aspects.

Food technology and packaging create opportunities for Indonesian SMEs to sell traditional dishes for instant cooking. Such products require a fitting packaging design. The purpose of this study was to find out verbal and visual design elements that have functional and emotional appeal that are suitable for the packaging of instant traditional Indonesian food. This study used a combined qualitative and quantitative method, measuring the respondents' opinions using a 5-point Likert scale. According to the results, the packaging of instant traditional Indonesian food brands is mostly functional but not unique. To make the appearance of the products stand out more and have more emotional appeal, three things can be applied to the packaging design: firstly, unusual colors and shapes to create a unique impression; secondly, a conventional image rather than a modern image; and thirdly, visual and verbal icons referring to the origin of the traditional dish that are still popular to create a familiar image.

This study discovered the model of families' function empowerment towards laid-off workers through the utilization of house yard during the COVID-19 pandemic. The target of this new model is establishing the family function in utilizing the house yard during COVID-19 pandemic. This new model can be used as a future reference for families who are affected by termination of employment. Research activities are carried out through qualitative exploration and experimental research. The study objectives consisted of: (1) determining the potential and development of existing human resources or the frequency of occurrence of certain aspects of social phenomena; and (2) describing certain social phenomena in detail. The findings are expected to create a model for families' function empowerment for families of laid-off workers through the utilization of home yards. Moreover, the model also includes a product such as video and illustrated pocket book, which contains families' function empowerment model. The results can be used by all family members during the pandemic and post-COVID-19 pandemics. As a result, the family function can be massively implemented by laid-off worker family members to strengthen the family bonds, in addition to making the yard beautiful and productive.
