Designing with Nature is an approach linking design and ecology, which focuses on living with nature, caring for nature, and aiming for a sustainable society. China has made eco-city development, eco-restoration, and eco-civilization its legislative priority and its national strategy, investing a US$618 billion in a 5-year period from 2011-2015 that could reach as high as US$1,124 billion dollars in the period of 2016-2020. "Designing with nature" also means that we must, as we are dealing with resources, consider and understand all the impacting factors and ecosystem capacities. China's biggest challenge has been to restore water quality, aquatic ecosystems, and landscape patterns. Alongside its natural resources and eco-city development, China possesses a solar energy capacity higher than that of any other country in the world, reaching 174 gigawatts by 2018. Solar power is now cheaper than fossil fuels in hundreds of Chinese cities. In this review, we affirm that the nature-driven design put forth by McHarg's Design with Nature has withstood the test of time, and we aim to renew interest in McHarg's ideas by arguing for a design of Chinese cities that is, in keeping with Design with Nature, future-oriented, nature-oriented, and sustainability-oriented.

Teknolojik gelişmelerin yön verdiği bilimsel gelişmeler doğrultusunda sınırlarını genişleten sanat günümüzde hiç alışık olmadığımız farklı bir anlayışla karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Biyo sanat, bilimin ve sanatın birbirine entegre olduğu bir çağdaş sanat yaklaşımıdır. Günümüzde bilimsel araştırmalar ve teknoloji doğrultusunda gelişim gösteren biyolojik sanatın örneklerine Türkiye’de pek rastlanmamaktadır. Dünyada incelenmesi gereken ve oldukça ilgi çeken örnekleri bulunmaktadır. Doğada var olan ve gözle göremediğimiz bazı formaların sanatta gözle görünür hâle getirildiği çeşitli enstalasyon, heykel çalışmaları olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Birçok sanatçı ise canlı yapılarını direkt sanatta kullanmaya başlamıştır. Alışık olmadığımız genetik ve doku kültür oynamalarının yapıldığı biyolojik sanatta insanları şaşırtan örneklerle karşı karşıya gelmekteyiz. Bütün bu çalışmalar Teknoloji, bilim, sanat ekseninde gerçekleşmiştir. Bu çalışmada biyoteknolojik uygulamalar, sanatçı, eser incelemesi yapılmıştır.

Metamorphosis of the Architectural Space of Goetheanum

In the beginning of the XX century, political, economic, and demographic revolutions contributed to the emergence of extraordinary people. In architecture, they were Frank Lloyd Wright, Antonio Gaudí, Frank Owen Gary, Le Corbusier, Hugo Hering, Alvar Aalto, Hans Sharun, Walter Burley Griffin, and Marion Mahony Griffin. Each of them was given a lot of attention in the media resources and their creativity was researched in different fields of knowledge. However, Rudolf Steiner’s work remains controversial to this day. Although many of the architects mentioned above enthusiastically commented on Steiner’s architectural works, there was always ambiguity in the perception of this mystic architect. Such a careful attitude to the work of the architect is due primarily to his worldview, his extraordinary approach to art and architecture in particular, because it is in architecture that Steiner was able to implement the basic tenets of anthroposophy, which he founded. The purpose of this study is to determine the content of the spatial structure of Steiner’s architecture, which makes it unique in the history of architectural heritage. The authors offer the scientific community the first article in a series of articles on the anthroposophical architecture of Rudolf Steiner and the philosophical concept that influenced the formation of this architecture.
