Throughput and fairness-balanced resource allocation algorithm in TD-LTE-Advanced relay-enhanced network

Abstract: In Release to ofTD-LTE-Advanced standard, the technique of relay is introduced to extend the network coverage, improve the cell-edge performance and increase the fairness among users. Resource allocation is an important issue in relay-enhanced TD-LTE-Advanced system, and in this paper, a downlink resource allocation algorithm considering direct link, backhaul link and access link is proposed. The proposed algorithm can be divided into two stages, in the first stage, users' requirement based dynamic frequency p… Show more

“…This paper focuses on backhaul subframes, often hardly treated compared with access subframes, in most works. Resource allocation (RA) in backhaul subframes has been addressed in the literature from different perspectives [3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. In [3][4]6] the proposals are based on fixed frequency partition schemes and they focus on strategies to share the available resources among RNs served by the DeNB.…”

In [5][6][7]10] the proposals are focused on computing the resource demands of each relay considering several criteria. In [3][4][5][8][9][10] the RA algorithm distributes the resources between direct and backhaul links.…”
