Time required to stabilize thermographic images at rest

Abstract: h i g h l i g h t sStandardizing the acclimatization time is crucial for a right T SK assessment by IRT. Time for reaching T SK balance in rest is different for young men and women. 10 min is enough for acclimatization when the external temperatures are not extreme. a r t i c l e i n f oArticle history: Received 6 November 2012 Available online 3 March 2014Keywords: Thermoregulation Thermography Thermal imaging Temperature a b s t r a c t Thermography for scientific research and practical purposes requires a s… Show more

“…After the intervention, the asymmetry of the anterior (right and left) arm changed from the level requiring monitoring attention (ΔTP 0.5°C) to normal (ΔTP 0.3°C) [11]. Thus, it was hypothesized that VR presented substantial evidence of improvement, especially in upper limb indicating that VR allows the modulation of arm and hand functions through forced use during play.…”

“…Thermograms were obtained twice, before and shortly after the session. Each patient was advised to remain standing and not to make sudden movements, not to cross the arms, and not to scratch for a period of at least 10 min for acclimatization [11]. …”

“…Participants rested in a seated position in the climatic chamber for a period of 15-min for stabilizing thermal balance before each tests [22]. Clothing was standardized at $0.1 Clo (clothing insulation for shorts, socks and sports shoes; 1 Clo = 0.155 K m 2 /W) in order to obtain the thermographic imaging from larger body surface.…”

“…Then, men were instructed to change into a swimsuit or shorts, whereas women were asked to wear shorts and a sport bra. Then, subjects were directed to the data collection room where, after a minimum of 10 minutes of adaptation to the room conditions [41], the thermograms were obtained.…”
