“…PLC has been the first choice for communication with the electricity meter due to the direct connection with the meter [20] and successful implementations of AMI in urban areas where other solutions struggle to meet the needs of utilities. PLC systems based on the LV distribution network have been one of the research topics for smart grid applications in China [22]. In a typical PLC network, smart meters are connected to the data concentrator through power lines and data is transferred to the data center via cellular network technologies.…”

“…In order to provide communication services with different priorities under the smart grid environment, it is a must to design a PLC system with variable data rates supported, which means understanding of the PLC physical channel characteristics become vital. The testing results in [13] show that the main reason influencing the reliable communication of high-speed data on power line is the attenuation of the high-frequency signal, which exhibits more obviously in the branch of power line. It is almost impossible to use the frequency range from 10 to 20 MHz for the reliable communications from distribution transformer to end user, so it must be solved with the aid of means such as the repeater and the modulation schemes.…”

“…where DP M,i [k] and DP M,i [k?1] denote the power mismatch of agent i at iteration k and k?1, respectively; r Loss,i is the power transmission loss weighting, typically about 5%*7% of the total load [29], so the transmission loss is modeled by multiplying the load demand by a weighting. It is worth noting that, to meet the stability condition in (9), the communication topology of the ADS must be strongly connected [21,22], and no agent can be isolated from the communication network, that is, at least one communication link must exist with its neighboring agents.…”
