Tratamento intra-operatório da fibrilação atrial crônica com ultra-som

Abstract: RESUMO: Introdução: A compartimentação atrial intra-operatória foi realizada em 27 pacientes, utilizando ultra-som (US). Show more

“…In our country, its feasibility, safety and efficacy have been demonstrated recently by Canale et al [6] in a heterogeneous group of patients undergoing cardiac surgery, in general, with maintenance of sinus rhythm after 1 year of 76%. Other forms of energy were studied by the authors in our country, such as unipolar radiofrequency by Breda et al [7] and Abreu Filho et al [8], showing mixed results and the use of ultrasound by Brick et al [9]. However, as far as best of our knowledge, this is the first national experience of exclusive study of patients with rheumatic mitral valve disease using a bipolar radiofrequency.…”

“…BRICK et al [17] performed intra-operative ablation with ultrasound for the treatment of chronic AF. Twenty-seven patients were submitted to ablation associated with other surgical procedures with the ablation lines following the Cox-Maze III technique.…”

“…In Brazil, Brick et al [38] published the results of 27 patients undergoing the application of ultrasound for treatment of AF and had reversion to sinus rhythm in 81.4% of cases at hospital discharge. The use of epicardial ultrasound was evaluated in patients with ischemic disease, and in at least 6 months of follow-up, we observed a success rate of 85% of patients free from tachyarrhythmias (atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation) [39].…”
