Tribological Properties of Nanostructured Diffusion Layers of Metal Coatings

Abstract: Copper nickel (Cu-Ni) coatings on products from instrumental steel H12M were drawn and they were subjected to subsequent intensive plastic deformation under stresses 3.0; 3.5; 4.0 and 4.5 GPa. The nanostructured surface, formation grains size of 13...173 nm with high-angle (at 3.0; 4.0; 4.5 GPa) and low-angle (dislocation) borders of grains (at 3.5 GPa), influencing redistribution of alloying elements and tribological properties was shown by means of methods of light and electronic microscopy, X-ray diffractio… Show more

“…Ultrafine-grained (UFG), as well as nanocrystalline (NC) metals and alloys having a grain size (0,1-1,0 µm) and (less 100 nm), accordingly, high pressure torsion (HPT) is obtained [1][2][3], equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) [4][5][6], surface plastic deformation [8][9][10][11][12], in places of localization of shift in shaving at high-speed machining of metals [13][14][15] and other methods of severe plastic deformation (SPD).…”

“…Nowadays, great importance is given to increasing the regulated overhaul life of engines and components in the process of manufacturing engineering products for civil and military. One of the ways to solve this task is to increase the reliability of antifriction parts, in particular, sliding bearings [1,2]. The possibility of various designs, high accuracy, small radial dimensions, the ability to work in water, corrosive environments, as well as under shock and vibration loads make the sliding bearings indispensable in the design of modern components and assemblies [2].…”
