Tritirachium oryzae and Other Endophytic Mediated Jambu Bol (Syzygium malaccense) are Potential as an Antioxidant

Abstract: Natural bioactive substances have been discovered produced of intracellular fungi. Intracellular fungi, as well as endophytic fungi, it can be found in organs are leaves, stems, roots, fruits, flowers, and seeds. This study aimed to specify for antioxidant activity of intracellular fungi Jambu Bol (Syzygium malaccense) mediated and identify secondary metabolites compounds. The liquid culture was partitioned with ethyl acetate solvent. Using chromatographic techniques, extracts were separated from their seconda… Show more

“…was reported as a contaminant in oil palm tissue culture [25]. While Tritirachium oryzae was found as an endophyte of Pinus wallichiana [26] and Syzygium malaccense [27]. Penicillium citrinum was reported as an endophyte of Boehmeria nivea [28], and Perenniporia tephropora was reported as an endophyte of Centella asiatica [29].…”

“…In therapeutic applications, endophytic fungi act as antibacterial agents (Deshmukh et al, 2015;Gagana & Shivanna, 2020;Pansanit & Pripdeevech, 2018). For instance, the antibacterial activity of the endophyte Tritirachium oryzae isolated from Syzygium malaccense contains 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl) -4-methoxytetrahydrofuran-3-ol (Hapida et al, 2022); Fusarium verticillioides, isolated from the stem bark of S. jambos, contains 3-hydroxy-4-(hydroxy(4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl)dihydrofuran-2-on ; and Penicillium brefeldianum from the root bark of Syzygium zeylanicum contains phydroxybenzaldehyde (Syarifah et al, 2021).…”

“…One of the key factors influencing development of novel drugs is natural compounds produced by endophytic fungus (Ahmed et al, 2023;Elawady et al, 2023;Elfita et al, 2022a;Hapida et al, 2022;Stelmasiewicz et al, 2023;Tammam et al, 2023;Zhu et al, 2023). The bulk of secondary metabolites generated by endophytic fungus have a different chemical structure, according to various studies Liu et al, 2023;Oktiansyah et al, 2023c;Rodrigo et al, 2021;Song et al, 2023;Stelmasiewicz et al, 2023).…”
