Decomposition of tert.‐Butyl Hydroperoxide by Zeolites
Zeolites catalyze the decomposition of tert.‐butyl hydroperoxide in the liquid‐phase. Structure, cation and degree of ion‐exchange influence the catalytic activity of the zeolithe. The highest rates of the decomposition were obtained by means of zeolites containing transition metal cations. It is possible to use the decomposition of tert.‐butyl hydroperoxide, catalyzed by zeolites, for the epoxidation of olefins.
