Use of Doehlert design in the optimization of extraction conditions in the determination of organochlorine pesticides in bovine milk samples by HS-SPME

Abstract: The extraction of pesticides lindane, heptachlor, aldrin, dieldrin and endrin from milk by HS-SPME was investigated followed by separation/detection of these compounds by GC-ECD.

“…A modern approach to the optimization process was commonly conducted by employing a computational experimental design (Kleijnen, 2010). In natural product chemistry, experimental designs can be applied in analytical method development , biological product enhancement (Farombi et al, 2018;Managamuri et al, 2017;Momen et al, 2016;Srivastava et al, 2018;Talluri et al, 2019), and parameters selection for efficiency and economic consideration in biochemical processing (Ciechomska et al, 2016;Ha et al, 2018;Merib et al, 2014;Xiong et al, 2016).…”

“…Various contaminants were determined by SPME technique in other food commodities (Table 2), such as milk [29,[177][178][179][180][181][182], fish [183][184][185][186][187], honey [188][189][190], tea [191][192][193], coffee [194,195], oil [196,197], butter [198], rice [199], chili [166,200,201], and seaweeds [202]. In particular, in milk SPME has been exploited in different coatings.…”

“…In particular, in milk SPME has been exploited in different coatings. The MOF-based coating was prepared for the analysis of bisphenol A [177], commercial fibers were used to assay organochlorine pesticides [178] and PAHs [179], whereas graphene-based fiber was fabricated for the determination of PCBs [180]. A very interesting approach for the analysis of contaminants in complex matrices was developed by Deng et al [29].…”

“…Its main advantages are simplicity, reproducibility and economy in time, reagents and further desorption in the injection port of a GCsystem. Some examples of recent applications include the determination of pesticides in milk, fruits or vegetables [12,13], organotin compounds in water or human urine [14,15], aldehydes in edible oils [16], volatiles in beer [17] or the assessment of aroma quality in red pepper paste [18], among others.…”
