Asia was the cradle of martial arts about 2,500 years ago, in mid-1915, jiu-jitsu was brought to Brazil. This technique was based on blows with the hands and feet, focusing on perfect mobilizations, grips and keys that immobilize the opponent very easily. Focus on self-defense. The purpose of this article is to review the literature with the intention of identifying the following factors: which part of the body is most affected and if the practice time in the modality and the athlete's graduation reflect on the appearance of the same.Our data collection took place in the year 2018, so we searched for articles in the databases PEDRO, VHL, ACADEMIC GOOGLE and SCIELO. With this we observed after the analysis of the data that the most affected place was the knee and the time of practice influences the appearance of lesions. Therefore physiotherapy is prepared to help these high-performance athletes return to their activities as quickly as possible, obtaining a greater degree of development of the injured members, so that the athlete can have ease in the course of their struggles and always aiming for prevention, so that there is no other injury.
