Vehicles Anti-collision System

Abstract: To communicate between vehicles running on highway a wireless technology should be applied which will enable the potential to avoid collision. This paper discusses the method of sharing information of vehicles using laser beam detection. The speed and distance of the vehicles is obtained using BLINDER laser detector according to which commands of driving is decided. This system provides warning message on the basis of data obtained by detector. If distance is within the safety limit, alert tone is activated. W… Show more

“…When comparing the performance of the proposed system with the performance of the microcontroller-based system [7], it clearly shows that the detection of the proposed system is almost 400 time faster than the detection of the latter, which was measured at 40 us. This performance can be significantly improved if the usage of the ultrasonic sensor is replaced by the laser range detector due to the greater speed of light, as proposed in [4]. Table 1 shows the hardware resources utilization and also the analysis on the timing and power consumption of the implemented algorithm in FPGA.…”

“…There were many ideas and researches which have been proposed to reduce the occurrence of road accidents especially accidents caused by human error, such as an anti-collision system with BLINDER laser detector [4], an anti-collision and intercommunication system using communication protocol [5] and an anticollision system using electromagnet and ultrasonic sensor [6]. While the article in [7] proposed the implementation of vehicle front sensor system, which is based on Arduin, by using the ultrasonic sensor.…”

“…Furthermore, focusing on the improvement of the performance of the vehicle speed gun, there are some studies on the design of light sources for replacing ultrasound signals such as a study from Erik Kreifeldt et al (1996), a study from Kumar et al (2019, Kumar et al (2014, and a study from Muzal et al (2016). In those studies, the authors have tried to use laser sources to detect the velocity of the vehicle.…”
