Viskositätsmessungen IX. Über die innere Reibung der schmelzflüssigen Kalium‐ und Natriumamalgame

Abstract: Die innere Reibung der schmelzflüssigen K‐ und Na‐Amalgame wurde in Kapillarviskosimetern bestimmt. Es wurde zum erstenmal auf den Viskositätskonzentrations‐isothermen ein ausgeprägtes Maximum gefunden, das im Konzentrationsbereich der stabilsten, aus dem festen Zustand her bekannten intermetallischen Verbindungen liegt. Es kann daraus auf das Weiterbestehen des I.M.V.‐Charakters im schmelzflüssigen Zustand geschlossen werden.

“…It is important to confirm whether the same kind of concentration dependence is found in the atomic transport processes a t the corresponding composition, since both electronic and atomic transport properties depend strongly upon the structure. For K-Hg alloys viscosity measurements were reported by Degenkolbe and Sauerwald (1952), but the composition range of their measurements was above 10 at.% K ; precise measurements at about 7 at.% K are necessary for comparison with the thermoelectric power data.
