With the accelerated development of the global economy, environmental issues have gradually become prominent, which in turn hinders further high-quality economic development. As one of the important driving factors, cross-border flowing foreign direct investment (FDI) has played a vital role in promoting economic development, but has also caused environmental degradation in most host countries. Utilizing panel data for the G20 economies from 1996 to 2018, the purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of FDI inflows on carbon emissions, and further explore the influence channels through the moderating effects of economic development and regulatory quality. To produce more robust and accurate results in this study, the approach of the feasible generalized least squares (FGLS) is utilized. Meanwhile, this study also specifies the heteroscedasticity and correlated errors due to the large differences and serial correlations among the G20 economies. The results indicate that FDI inflows are positively associated with carbon emissions, as well as both economic development and regulatory quality negatively contribute to the impacts of FDI inflows on carbon emissions. It implies that although FDI inflows tend to increase the emissions of carbon dioxide, they are more likely to mitigate carbon emissions in countries with higher levels of economic development and regulatory quality. Therefore, the findings are informative for policymakers to formulate effective policies to help mitigate carbon emissions and eliminate environmental degradation.

Economic policies related to energy and the environment are found uncertain in developing economies. Renewable energy sources are gradually increasing in energy structure (ES) with the adoption of environment-related technologies (ERT). However, least attention is paid to investigating the nexus of economic policy uncertainty (EPU), ERT, ES, and ecological footprint (EF). Therefore, this study is an effort to examine the EPU, ERT, ES, and interaction of EPU and ERT on EF for BRICS economies under the umbrella of the STIRPAT model. By using the data from 1992 to 2020, findings are estimated through "cross-sectional dependence (CD test); CIPS and CADF unit root test; Westerlund's co-integration; and CS-ARDL, AMG, and CCEMG." Findings unveiled the negative role of EPU on EF. Furthermore, the role of RE and ERT is positive and substantial in decreasing the environmental degradation in BRICS. Therefore, the BRICS economies are suggested to be consistent on economic policies to catch the positive impact of ERT. Findings are robust to the policy implications.

This study aims to determine the factors influencing carbon emissions disclosure in basic and chemical industrial companies listed on the IDX in 2016-2019. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach of the Explanatory Research type to explain the relationship between the independent and dependent variables through hypothesis testing. The sample selection was used using a purposive sampling method with the following criteria. Data in the form of financial reports and company annual reports were obtained from the website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange ICMD (Indonesian Capital Market Directory), and www.finance.yahoo.com. The data used in this study are time series and cross-section data. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the Good Corporate Governance variable has a positive and significant effect on Carbon Emissions Disclosure; Managerial Ownership Variables have a negative and significant effect on Carbon Emissions Disclosures; firm Value Variables do not affect Carbon Emissions Disclosures, Leverage Variables do not affect Carbon Emissions Disclosures, Company Size Variables have a positive and significant effect on Carbon Emissions Disclosures, Good Corporate Governance Variables, Managerial Ownership, Firm Value, Leverage and Firm Size jointly influence Carbon Emissions Disclosure. The results of this study can provide information for regulators, company management, investors, creditors, and other interested parties to understand the importance of the supervisory function in a company.
