Welding deformations of welded joints between 1D Ag nanowire connectors and 3D substrates: a molecular dynamics study

Abstract: In order to enrich the understanding of the relationship between 1D and 3D Ag nanomaterials in welding deformation, molecular dynamics simulations were performed to study a common structure of welded joints in Ag nanowire (NW) connectors on Ag substrates. The effects of the overlapping length, welding temperature and NW diameter on welding strength, dislocation and atomic strain were investigated, with the aim of understanding welding deformations of welded joints. With the increase in the overlapping length, … Show more

“…Compared with high-temperature annealing, welding by light-induced has fewer disordered atoms, phase transitions, dislocations, and smaller residual stresses ( Luan et al., 2020a ). However, the research on the evolution of nano-welding behavior on hotspots caused by the plasmon effect on the atomic scale is not mature ( Luan et al., 2020b ). In terms of mechanical measurement, there is little research on the direct measurements of joints because it is still limited by the coupling of light-induced processes and in-situ mechanical measurement systems.…”
