“…The capacity of media products, in particular, cinematography as a means of education have been known for a long time and were actively used, in particular, in Soviet pedagogy (Penzin, 1987). Within the framework of film pedagogy, patterns are revealed, forms and methods of educating children and youth with screen arts are developed (Scolari et al, 2020). Film pedagogy served as the basis for the development of new research areas -media education (Fedorov, Levitskaya, 2019;Kolokolnikova, 2021;Kondrashova, 2014;Maksimova, 2006), media upbringing (Maksimova, 2007), digital didactics (Blinov et al, 2021;Boelens et al, 2017;Mizanbekov et al, 2019).…”

“…The team implemented observational methods and a more interventional creative approach during the field work, substituting traditional focus groups with creative and participatory workshops for creating meaningful research contexts in which participants could become involved (Scolari, Ardèvol, Pérez-Latorre, Masanet, and Lugo Rodríguez, 2020). The following procedure was implemented across the research:ethical and data management protocols (consents of teens, parents and schools);1633 questionnaires to determine teens’ sociocultural backgrounds and their media access, habits, uses and perceptions;58 creative workshops for exploring three specific areas: participatory culture, video games and social media;311 in-depth interviews and 90 media diaries to delve into teens’ discourses about their media practices; andonline observation of eight websites, media celebrities and online communities followed by teens.…”
