X-ray mass absorption coefficients and quantitative microanalysis of metallurgical systems, including refractory metal-interstitial compounds

Abstract: A method, based on consideration of atomic potentials, for the estimation of mass absorption coefficients is described. Mass absorption coefficients for wavelengths up 0 to 80 A can be estimated. Numerical values are given for several elements, including the refractory metals, for the characteristic emission lines of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen.
