“…The CO 2 gas adsorption studies confirm the permanent pores in the eight-fold interpenetrating CPs 1 and 2 , which provide a unique opportunity to investigate the role of the entangled bpba-CPs in the sensing of abundant VOCs [ 26 , 27 , 28 , 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 ] and metal ions [ 33 ]. The activated complexes of 1 and 2 , 1a and 2a , were exposed to various VOCs by immersing grounded samples (30 mg) into 5 mL different organic solvents, which were then sonicated for 10 min and collected by centrifugation and then air dried.…”

“…In addition, acetone is a good quench agent, which may be related to the different triplet states of different solvents. [24][25][26] Therefore, in the luminescence sensing experiments, CH 3 CN was utilized as the suspension medium to investigate the quenching effect of different amount of acetone on the luminescence intensity. [27] As shown in Figure 6, a gradual decrease of the emission intensity with the increasing addition of acetone, when the acetone concentration is 160 μL, the emission intensity almost disappears.…”

“…Nanotechnology is a rapidly developing field with various applications in science and technology (Jun 2021). Nanosized fluorescent probes for bioimaging and living cell determination were recently discussed in several excellent reviews (Mittal and Banerjee, 2016;Zhao et al, 2016;Hemmer et al, 2017;Yang et al, 2019;Parmar et al, 2020). These fluorogenic probes include nanomaterial-based probes, (Nicewarner-Pena et al, 2001;Kamat, 2002;Singh and Lillard, 2009;Mittal and Banerjee, 2016;Macairan et al, 2020), from quantum dots and carbon nanomaterials to organic and inorganic nanoparticles for multimodal bioimaging and targeted therapy (Yang et al, 2019), and near-infrared emitting nanoparticles for imaging, thermal sensing, and photodynamic therapy (Hemmer et al, 2017).…”
