The article analyzes the best world experience in the use of information and communication technologies in the training of border guards, which proves the necessity of their implementation in the system of professional training of personnel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. It was found that the active development of information and communication technologies and technologies based on virtual reality requires the application of the principles of interactivity, participation, the introduction of collaborative learning to ensure student-centered training of future border guards.In order to increase the realism in the curriculum, it was decided that the border crossing point will be built in a virtual learning environment, where cadets will be able to perform the functions of border guards. The use of virtual reality technologies for educational purposes is based on research that has shown that participants in virtual learning environments quickly identify with the roles and situations they face in virtual situations, they experience virtual interactions as real events, and this experience is transferred to real life. . The author analyzed current effective solutions in this area abroad: using by the Canadian Border Guard Service of a Second Life virtual reality technology to enable future border guards to work in a fully operational virtual border crossing point; introduction by the Finnish Border and Coast Guard of a border control e-learninig training course based on the flipped-classroom method with an active use of synchronous and asynchronous learning tools. Professional training of the State Border Guard Service staff in departmental educational institutions in modern conditions requires the introduction of best practices in the field of distance learning, which necessiates further study in this area.
