The solution to a number of global problems nowadays depends on the nature of human interaction with the world’s oceans. The constant growth in shipping operations requires ensuring the environmental safety of the planet and belongs to strategic targets of the environmental policy of IMO Convention (International Maritime Organization) in the context of sustainable development of the maritime industry. The aim of the study is the necessity to form ecological consciousness of future seafarers by means of educational VR technologies. The issue of the effective use of cloud computing and VR technologies is considered throughout the research. The definitions of simulation and distance educational technologies, their role in the formation of environmental competence of seafarers are revealed on the example of applying the “Safe Tank Cleaning Operation” course with the use of projected virtual reality simulator. According to the experiment’s results the quality of environmental competence formation in experimental group is 88% and in control group - 82%. The research reflects modern approaches and describes a methodology for acquiring practical skills by means of VR simulation technologies. The authors have shown the effectiveness of practical skills mastering by using VR simulators in the process of forming the environmental competence of seafarers.

El objetivo de este estudio es identificar el impacto del uso de tecnologías de realidad aumentada en la formación de especialistas en el campo de la educación STEAM, mediante el análisis de indicadores cognitivos como “habilidades” y “voluntad” entre estudiantes que utilizan tecnologías de realidad aumentada, y la comparación entre estos indicadores con un grupo hipotético. El estudio involucró métodos de encuesta, análisis de modelos lógicos y matemáticos del proceso educativo, análisis de factores que influyen en el proceso educativo, el método para encontrar la solución óptima, el método para identificar una muestra mínima de expertos, la proporción de recomendaciones mutuas, el método de análisis de factores mentales y una prueba t de Student. El análisis de los logros educativos mostró que el uso de tecnologías de realidad aumentada mejora significativamente el rendimiento de los estudiantes, simplificando la comprensión de sistemas y mecanismos complejos en ellos.

The article considers the methodological principles of the organization of blended learning in the study of German as a second foreign language at the Department of Applied Linguistics of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. The authors summarize the experience of domestic and foreign researchers on the implementation of blended learning and technology for distance learning in the virtual learning environment Moodle.It is noted that the German language courses developed and posted on the e-learning platform contribute to the formation of communicative competence, readiness to communicate in various spheres of public life. This exploration demonstrates the possibility of using the Moodle platform to develop a foreign language course by students, because there is the possibility of online presentation of educational material in a group, at the student’s workplace, as well as sufficient methodological assistance in the form of audio and video materials. Simultaneously with full-time learning, tests are used in a distance format, the learning process is the result of cooperation between teachers and students in the network by means of information technology such as video conferencing, chats, forums, e-mail. With the help of this platform, a system of automated control and self-control of acquired knowledge, initial and final control and an available electronic journal with assessments has been developed, which improves learning efficiency and increases motivation of participants in this type of learning. This study proves that the electronic platform for learning a foreign language is effective for both parties to the initial process: not only students but also for teachers.
