Abstract:Electronic devices have become a part of human life today that can not be ignored. Community Service Program conducted by Prodi Electrical Engineering, Maranatha Christian University aims to increase knowledge, increase interest, form the ability of cooperation, improve creativity and improve the fighting power of high school students on the operation of electronic devices, in the form of arduino programming training .Arduino is an open source electronic kit specifically designed as a controller that regulates the working process of electronic circuits. The method used in this PKM is Participatory Action Research (PAR) in the form of lecture method to describe the material that has been prepared by PKM team, the method of practice in the form of Arduino programming and assembling the electronic component connected with Arduino, the method of mentoring when the students do the programming and stringing electronic components, and discussion methods in the form of inter-group cooperation to solve the case given. The results of this training can be a provision for high school students in the form of programming skills, the ability to assemble electronic components, the ability to work with groups to solve existing problems, and increase confidence in designing and operating electronic devices
Internet of Things (IoT) is a conceptual technology that aims to complement the benefits of internet connectivity that connected continuously. IoT is a paradigm that states that each object can be used as a device that can identify, sense, as long as it is connected to the telecommunications network and provides communication with other equipment that connected to the internet. PAR (Participatory Action Research) is a method that involves interested parties in assessing the actions being carried out to make changes for the better. Youth Organization is a place for the development of the young generation that grows from awareness and responsibility, and officially is supported by the government to develop the potential that exists in the area. Electrical Engineering Study Program of Universitas Kristen Maranatha supports Karang Taruna Haur Galur Sukagalih Village, Bandung City, by providing knowledge, competencies, and skills, especially in the Internet of Things technology. Through this training obtained the results that indicate an increase of 30%, specifically about the knowledge of the nature of capacitors, and knowledge of WiFi. While for some knowledge questions such as LDR, pull-up, and some symbols, a quite good correct answer percentage of around 40% (from all participants) was obtained. The motivation of participants to progress and develop is seen from 100% of participants felt training needed to be continued again.
Inner-wood decay is hard to be detected. This research focused on inner-wood decay detection for Mahogany and Albasia Wood. Inner-wood decay can increase the possibility for tree or wood structure to collapse. An instrument is needed to detect inner-wood decay. Nondestructive testing (NDT) is one of the analyze technique for evaluating characteristic of a material. In this research, NDT is use as the analyze technique for getting the wood condition. There is lots of method for NDT, in this research ultrasound method with through transmission technique is chosen. Through transmission technique observe the amount of ultrasound that is sent from transducer transmitter through the wood that is tested and received by the transducer receiver. The amount of ultrasound that received will be higher if there is no inner-wood decay in the tested wood. The instrument that has been designed and realized can detect and classified inner-wood decay. The percentage of success in detecting condition Mahogany Wood with good quality is 98%, poor quality is 80%, and mediocre quality is 74%. The percentage of success in detecting condition Albasia Wood with good quality is 94%, poor quality is 86%, and mediocre quality is 72%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
