This research aimed to analyze the needs of EarthComm-based learning multimedia of geography, the effectiveness of the multimedia to improve students' motivation and spatial ability; and analyze the feasibility of multimedia utilization in two public high schools in Surakarta by using ADDIE development model. The data of learning multimedia needs were collected by distributing questionnaires to the targeted correspondents (2 teachers and 30 students). Meanwhile, regarding the effectiveness of the multimedia in improving students' spatial ability and motivation, the data were collected by utilizing Spatial Thinking Ability Test (STAT) and questionnaires. The assessment of feasibility was done by distributing experts' validation sheet and students' assessment. The data analysis tool used was one-way ANOVA. The result of the need analysis shows that >75% of students have medium level of motivation, >90% of students have low spatial ability, and >80% of the students need a more innovative geography lesson. After implementing EarthComm-based geography multimedia learning, it is known that the multimedia is effective to improve the students' motivation and spatial ability which is shown by the significance value gained (0.00<0.05). Furthermore, based on the experts' judgment and small-scale trials done, it is concluded that the EarthComm-based geography multimedia learning is feasible to be implemented.
Local wisdom cannot be denied being able to maintain the environmental sustainability of indigenous peoples in various dimensions of life. The Samin community is one of the tribes in Indonesia that has a strong traditional spirit. The aim of the study is to describe local wisdom in the agricultural activities of the Samin community in Sambongrejo, Blora, Indonesia. A qualitative approach was developed to obtain a model of local wisdom in the ancestral teachings of the Samin community which are still being maintained. Collecting data in this study employed observation, interviews, documentation, and FGD (Focused Group Discussion) with several Indigenous Samin’s figures. The result shown teachings of Samin’s ancestors taught that life must be in harmony with nature. Therefore, agriculture is performed with the principle of zero waste to minimize environmental impact. The Samin community implements an integrated organic farming system with livestock so that the biological cycle can occur. Plants are cultivated by intercropping method for commodity diversity. Local wisdom that developed according to technological developments even though it is based on the old teachings (ancestors) can still provide maximum benefits for the sustainability of life. The zero-waste principle implemented to the Samin community’s agriculture is a manifestation of environmental ethics from the teachings of the ancestors to produce sustainable agriculture.
This community service activity is to provide training in designing online learning through the use of the Edmodo online platform for teachers of SMP Negeri 242 Jakarta. This is due to the Covid-19 pandemic which requires learning activities to be carried out from home (PJJ). The ability of teachers to utilize digital learning platforms by moving offline learning to online learning, as well as organizing student assignments into competencies that must be mastered and improved in order to create synchronous and asynchronous learning. The application of Edmodo is a learning alternative that creates effective learning to support the process of organizing learning activities because Edmodo has several features, such as "Assignment", "Quiz", and "Poll" and several other features such as cloud for material storage. This training activity was attended by 26 teachers of SMP Negeri 242 Jakarta from various subject teachers. The training is carried out online and offline. The data acquisition instrument used a questionnaire which was used to determine the initial perceptions and insights of the training participants towards the BDR learning that had been carried out and to find out their perceptions and insights after attending the training. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the training that has been carried out has had a positive and beneficial impact on the teachers of SMP Negeri 242 Jakarta.
The Transformation of the Distribution of the Sedulur Sikep Samin Community, Blora Regency Abstract The Samin community is a community that emerged in the Dutch colonial era, this community is part of Javanese society which teaches about equality in life and freedom to practice their beliefs (manunggaling kawulo gusti), the Samin community has procedures, customs, languages , and norms and has a unique history, in its emergence can not be separated from the arrival of the Dutch colonial government which implemented forced cultivation and land taxes for the natives which was the background for the emergence of teachings from the Samin community. The emergence of the samin movement or better known as geger samin is the movement of samin surosentiko or raden kohar who is believed to have one lineage with the king of Majapahit. This samin movement strengthened in 1890 in Blora Regency, then expanded to various areas in Blora Regency including Sambong, Doplang, Randublatung, Kedungtuban, and shared other districts such as Rembang Regency, Pati Regency, Grobogan Regency, and Bojonegoro Regency. This study focuses on describing the transformation of the distribution of the Samin community in Blora Regency with a local knowledge approach (emic) with a field survey method to find out the location and map the distribution of the Samin community that still exists in maintaining their culture.
This article is the result of community service activities that aim to increase adolescent knowledge in social research, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic. The form of activity is in the form of webinars which are expected to be one solution to overcome the low interest of adolescents in social research. This community service activity was carried out in the youth scientific group (KIR) of SMAN 24 which consisted of 15 student members. The webinar activity was carried out in two sessions of material, among others about the urgency of social research and types of social research. The material is provided with an interactive lecture and discussion model so that the activities are two-way. Data collection was carried out in the form of an open questionnaire and pre-test-post-test. Data analysis with descriptive statistics and analysis of answers from open questionnaires. The results of the activity show that KIR member students have understood the urgency of social research and are able to express ideas to be developed into social research. Social research can be a positive activity for teenagers during a pandemic as a medium for self-development. In conclusion, this activity has been able to increase students' knowledge and understanding in social research. In addition, this activity has also developed critical thinking skills. ABSTRAK Artikel ini merupakan hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja dalam penelitian sosial terutama di masa pandemic Covid 19. Bentuk kegiatan berupa webinar yang diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi rendahnya minat remaja dalam penelitian sosial. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada kelompok ilmiah remaja (KIR) SMAN 24 yang terdiri dari 15 siswa anggota. Kegiatan webinar dilaksanakan dalam dua sesi materi antara lain tentang urgensi penelitian sosial dan jenis - jenis penelitian sosial. Materi diberikan dengan model ceramah interaktif dan diskusi agar kegiatan bersifat dua arah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan berupa angket terbuka dan pre test-post test. Analisis data dengan statistik deksriptif dan analisis jawaban dari angket terbuka. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan siswa anggota KIR telah memahami urgensi penelitian sosial dan mampu mengungkapkan ide untuk dikembangkan ke dalam penelitian sosial. Penelitian sosial dapat menjadi kegiatan positif bagi remaja pada saat pandemi sebagai media pengembangan diri. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini telah mampu menigkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa dalam penelitian sosial. Selain itu kegiatan ini juga telah mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis.
