This research aims to deeply explore the nerimo concept in Javanese Muslim society. Nerimo as the philosophy of Javanese culture is often associated with the concept of patience in Islamic doctrine. This research shows that there are a misconception understanding and practice among the Javanese Muslims regarding the concept of nerimo and patience. They tend to express nerimo and patience as a practice of passivity, static, and blind submission to all problems of life. This causes the values contained those concepts to be reduced and lose the spirit of liberation for the life of mankind. By employing a liberation hermeneutic approach and sociological analysis, this research concludes that the nerimo concept in Javanese Muslim could be reconstructed into a Javanese idea that implies human endurance in every period of life. The concepts of nerimo and patience alternately are a form of psychological, spiritual, and intellectual awareness that every life has a periodic motion where every person will surely experience life fluctuations. Then the principle of patience and nerimo become a catalyst for the position of life to turn it back into motion. Patience and nerimo, therefore, are not placed as results but are situated as the power of a continuity life process which can drive people surpassing one stage of their lives.
<p>This research aims not only to understand the concept of peace in the Qur’an but also analyze Muslims’ contestation in Salatiga to lead to a peaceful life among religious believers. It requires an in-depth examination on dialectical perspectives between the ideal concept of peace in the Quran and the reality of a peaceful culture in the public sphere. Methodologically, this research combines literature review and semi-structured interviews to gather theoretical data based on social responses and literature of contemporary Qur’anic interpretation. The research subjects consist of (1) Muslims living with non-Muslim family members in the same house, (2) Muslims in a non-Muslim neighborhood, (3) religious figures, and (4) non-Muslims with Muslim family members. In order to interpret a special meaning of Qur’anic terms related to peaceful life, this research employs a hermeneutical approach of socio-thematic interpretation of the Qur’an. In conclusion, this research points out that Muslims in Salatiga play a significant role in building a peaceful life where some concepts, such as unity, freedom, honesty, and respect, are principles thriving vividly throughout society. Additionally, tolerance is a foundation of social interaction leading them to cooperate. Besides, several values, namely harmonization, tolerance, and coexistence, can be seen as dominant ideas within the communities, and practices such as cooperation and friendship can also be seen in their daily life. Thus, this research affirms that the Muslim majority can lead to tolerance and accommodate diversity as a way of life.</p>
Tulisan ini berusaha untuk mengungkap nalar kebudayaan pada masyarakat Muslim Kembangarum Kota Salatiga dalam tradisi Badan. Selain itu juga bermaksud mengungkap makna tradisi tersebut bagi masyarakat saat ini. Dengan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini menggunakan kajian pustaka, book survey. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa tradisi Badan di Kembangarum, merupakan salah satu tradisi masyarakat yang mengekspresikan kebudayaan masyarakat yang religius, sebagai wujud rasa syukur pada Tuhan. Tradisi Badan juga memiliki makna kepedulian kepada alam, serta makna membangun kerukunan dan keguyuban di antara masyarakat. Selain makna-makna kultural tersebut, tradisi Badan juga memiliki makna ekonomis dan sosial budaya bagi pemerintah lokal dan masyarakat.
Al-Qur’an is a guide and instruction revealed by Allah to humans in living life on earth, including for students of Sciences Department (Tadris IPA) Teacher Traning and Education Faculty (FTIK) IAIN Salatiga. Efforts to understand Al-Qur’an are very relevant in learning process. Tadris IPA students can take a concrete role in understanding the imitation cues in the Al-Qur’an physically based on physical, chemical and biological perspectives. Science motion written in Al-Qur’an are very important sources of knowledge to be explored, researched, and disseminated to the benefit of people. One of the scientific motion is found in QS. Al-Baqarah verse 168. The purpose of this study is to determine the learning effectiveness of department-based integrated scientific interpretation. This is a quantitative research with the "One-Group Pre-test-Post-test" research design. The population is all Tadris IPA students in, the sample is third semester students of class C with total 27 students. The pre-test and post-test data that have been obtained are continued by parametric test (paired t-test). The result of paired t-test = 12.684, p=0.00 < 0.05 with the conclusion that the learning effectiveness of department-based integrated science interpretation is effective in improving the learning outcomes of the science interpretation for Tadris IPA students of IAIN Salatiga students.
This article seeks to uncover the reason culture on Muslim society Kembangarum Salatiga in the Badan tradition. It also intends to reveal the meaning of the tradition for today's society. This qualitative study uses literature review andfinds that the tradition is one of the expression of religious communities, as a manifestation of gratitude to God, concern for nature, and cohesion and communality among the public. In addition to the cultural meanings, Badan tradition also has economic and sociocultural significance for local governments and communities.
