The virtual way of working is becoming increasingly popular due to its potential for cost savings; it is also a way for an organization to be more agile and adapt to crises such as global pandemics. This innovative way of working brings new challenges to organizations that suddenly have to switch to telework. In fact, telework raises quite a few issues for employees, related to communication, collaboration, and the application of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). This study examined the evaluation of telework through a questionnaire by different conditional groups of 436 teleworkers in Lithuania. Through a correlation analysis between the study variables, the findings suggest that there are differences in the evaluation of factors affecting telework efficiency and qualities required from a remote worker, depending on gender, age, education, work experience, and experience of telework. The results are discussed in terms of the characteristics of the most satisfied and the most dissatisfied teleworkers.

The purpose of this article is to propose the integrated index of Public Governance efficiency based on the Fishburne's method, considering the impact's power and direction of the different sub-indexes (Worldwide Government Indicators) on macroeconomic stability and eliminating the issue of multicollinearity. The object of the study was 11 European countries that had two common features: 1) in the political sphere, during 1990-1992 the countries started the political transformation process by refusing the monopoly of the communistic regime; 2) in the economic sphere, the countries experienced transformation from planned to market economy. Based on these criteria, the following countries were selected: Lithuania, and Ukraine. The research findings proved a connection between the political and social determinants and the macroeconomic stability for the all the countries. Transition from the academic setting to the turbulent labour market requires more personal resources than ever before. In order to successfully enter and perform in professional life one must be ready to respond adequately to conditions of uncertainty and complexity. The concept of planned happenstance skills presents a set of competencies to deal effectively with unplanned events generated by chaotic environment. These career-related resources are extremely important for students pursuing successful adaption to professional environments and seeking to prepare for personal career management. The present article aims to analyze the role of planned happenstance skills when predicting psychological wellbeing and academic adjustment. Lithuania was chosen as a case study since there is a high percentage of people with higher education. The study was conducted using the quantitative method of questionnaire survey. Data of the survey were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analyses. It was found that planned happenstance skills had a significant positive relationship with study variables and were a significant predictor of academic achievement and psychological wellbeing.

ABSTRACT. The aim of the article is to present the insights of advanced organization management and to examine how settled ideas are reflected in the attitude of organizations' top management in Lithuania. The results of meta-analysis revealed that modern organizations should be managed with a new attitude to manager's work. A modern manager must be a leader who is able to enable employees and collaborate in a team. Scholars state that these strivings require the leader to possess managerial competences based on a high emotional and social intellect of a person. Leaders of 48 empirically examined organizations in Lithuania also emphasized the importance of leaders' specific managerial competences. The research participants noted that relations with other people are becoming much more important for the contemporary leaders than before. The research enabled to develop a model of modern leader's characteristics. The model states that only leader having specific values, attitudes, competences, abilities and professional characteristics is able to overcome managerial challenges in nowadays organizations.
