The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of spiritual quotient towards subjective well-being of students in Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta High School. This research was quantitative research. The subject of this research was students of class X and XI of Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta High School as many as 227 students. The technique of data collection was using scale of spiritual quotient and scale of subjective well-being in theform of questionnaire. Data analysis was using simple linier regression analysis. The results of this study indicated that: (1) as many as 211 students (92,95%) have high level of spiritual quotient, 16 students (7,05%) have moderate level of spiritual quotient and there was no low level of spiritual quotient of student, (2) as many as 176 students (77,53%) have high level of subjective wellbeing, 51 students (22,47%) have moderate level of subjective well-being and there was no low level of subjective well-being of student, (3) Spiritual quotient has positive effect and significant toward subjective well-being of students in Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta High School as big as 48% with significant value (Sig.) of 0,000 and t-count as big as 14,418.

Technological progress is one important element in the world of education, especially in the face of the age of globalization that has eroded the values of the character of Indonesian society. The role of teachers in preparing students to attend the era of technological progress is one effort to equip them to face the power of technology that cannot be damned. This research is a descriptive research using qualitative approach. This research aims to find out how the role of the teacher to strengthen Character of students in order to face the era of disruption and abundance of technology. Data collection using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Research subjects consist of Principals and Teachers. Validity of data obtained by using data source triangulation techniques, data analysis used is inductive data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman with the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and decision making. The result shows that teacher able to strengthen the student's character by using technology effectively. The learning effort is seemed increase when teacher control the learning activity of student by using IT. Student's teamwork is also shown in more productive when teacher assign the homework based on IT. Other student character able to be designed and controlled by teachers, in and out of the class.

Character Education is one of the important elements in the education world especially in facing the era of globalization which has eroded the values of the character of the Indonesian people. Character values that are supposed to be strong to keep all Indonesian people feel unable to deal with the onslaught of the times. Strengthening character education is one of the efforts to improve the condition of the world of education today with the hope that in the future education will be the frontline in improving the condition of the Indonesian people. This study emphasizes how the strategy carried out by the Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta in implementing the values of character education to all stakeholders. This study aims to determine the strategy of strengthening character education through the implementation of character values at the Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta. This research is a type of descriptive research using a qualitative approach. Data collection uses observation, interview and documentation techniques. The research subjects consisted of Foundation Leaders, Principals, Subject Teachers, and students, The validity of the data was obtained by using the source data triangulation technique, the data analysis used was the inductive data analysis technique from Miles and Huberman with the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and decision making.

This research was based on the view that literature is basically a reflection of society. So in this study, researchers used the approach to the sociology of literature. This paper aimed to describe (1) short story becomes one of the literary works that are used as teaching material in schools, (2) the aspect of characrter education based on the collection of short stories entitled Mata Yang Enak Dipandang by Ahmad Tohari, and (3) social problems collection of short stories entitled Mata Yang Enak Dipandang. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive explaining the data that has been found in research. The main data sources in this study the quotations contained in the novel and the results of interviews with literary experts and learning experts. The results of this study is the main characters in this short story are varied and its can be utilized in the study of literary appreciation for Class XI in Senior high school semester with the standard literary discourse understanding competence through reading poetry and short stories in the aspects of reading and basic competence that is analyzing the intrinsic elements of a short story linkages with everyday life
