The main purpose of this research is to find a model of punishment in preventing social conflict on local wisdom of Dalihan na Tolu indigenous people. The questions posed in this research include the multi-dimension social conflict prevention model based on local wisdom of Indonesia, the deliberation stage of preventing such conflict and strategies adopted by local wisdom to resolve social conflict. The research further focuses its examination on local society that is Dalihan na Tolu indigenous people. This research uses empirical juridical research method, which is departed from local wisdom norms, or known as adat laws and examines the application of such laws in society. This research proposes that the multi-dimensional model of social conflict prevention should be carried out using the rules contained in:
Tambar ni hulit, which means skin medicine in the Simalungun language, is the title of an old manuscript belonging to the Simalungun tribe. This manuscript is written on laklak material containing medicine information for various diseases. Moreover, this manuscript is relatively rare and written in characters and language that are no longer commonly used. The purpose of this study is to inventory, describe, transliterate, and translate the interpretation of the Tambar Ni Hulit contents. Tambar Ni Hulit is one of the results in searching for old manuscripts in various places in North Sumatra, like museums, libraries, and private collections. The inventory, description, transliteration, and translation were carried out by applying the philological method and content analysis was done to review the content. The result of the inventory described the information of the storage location of Tambar Ni Hulit, namely the North Sumatra Museum. The description analysis described the physical state of the manuscript. From the transliteration and translation results, it is concluded that the Tambar Ni Hulit contains various disease information accompanied by the ingredients of their respective medicine and treatment methods with incantations during the treatment.
There are indigenous peoples who have their own traditional value in passing the prevention of forest destruction. Before the establishment of legislation on Preventing Forest Destruction in Indonesia, the indigenous people of Dalihan na Tolu have their own rules in preventing forest destruction. The customary law of Dalihan na Tolu has governed: the model of settlement of forest degradation disputes, the universal rules of indigenous peoples of Dalihan na Tolu on the prevention of forest destruction, the form of sanctions imposed on forest destruction parties, and the form of oversight in the implementation of the prevention of forest destruction.
Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal pada masyarakat Adat Batak Bagian Selatan, memiliki makna yang dalam, baik dari segi adat maupun agama, sehingga perlu dilestarikan untuk menciptakan masyarakat yang peduli dengan sesama dan lingkungan. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kearifan lokal masyarakat Adat Batak Bagian Selatan dalam bentuk sanksi hukum bagi pelaku. Dalam setiap pelanggaran atau kejahatan yang dilakukan di tengah- tengah masyarakat, telah ada aturan jenis sanksinya sebagaimana yang telah tertuang dalam Surat Tumbaga Holing yang menjadi sumber rujukan hukum adat masyarakat adat Batak Bagian Selatan. Di dalam Surat tersebut, terdapat beberapa sanksi yang penuh dengan kearifan local yang dijatuhkan kepada orang yang memicu timbulnya konflik sosial dalam masyarakat. Kearifan lokal ini perlu disosialisasikan pada generasi penerus dengan mempelajarinya mulai tingkat dasar sampai perguruan tinggi sehingga tetap terjaga kelestariannya.
Speaking is one of the most important skills to learn when learning a new language. It is important to find the best teaching strategy to help students learn the material Many different ways to learn English can be used by students, and they need to be aware of this. The purpose of this study was to find out what strategies students use to learn English and to identify the factors that influence their choice of learning method. Participants in this study were students in the third semester of the English semester. The data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. The results show that English seminar students predominantly used learning strategies based on metacognitive, cognitive, and social influential strategies when learning to speak. Almost half of the students used taking notes (51.4%) as their most common strategy, while only (19.6%) of students used translating. On the other hand, the male student's strategy was cooperation (16.8%) and self-assertiveness. These learning strategies can be used to help the student achieve their learning goals.
