Isatin is a heterocyclic nitrogen compound that has attracted much interest in recent years due to its diverse biological and pharmacological activities. It can be used in many medical and biological applications, such as antidiabetic, antibiotic, and anticancer agents. The isatin molecule can also be prepared from different substrates by various methods, such as the methods of Sandmeyer, Stolle, Gassman, Meanwell and Hewawasam and others. On the other hand, the isatin molecule can undergo various chemical reactions, such as oxidation, Friedel-Crafts reaction, ring expansion, aldol condensation, and alkylation reactions. As a result of these reactions, several biologically useful biomolecules are formed, including 2-oxindoles, tryptanthrin, indirubins and others. Therefore, the aim of this review was to provide an overview of the synthetic methods of the isatin molecule and its derivatives and to examine the various chemical reactions it undergoes. In addition, a list of some of the recently documented biological activities of isatin derivatives was compiled, such as antidiabetic, antibacterial, anticancer, and other properties.
Four electrodes were synthesized based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). Two MIPs were prepared by using tramadol hydrochloride (TRH) as the template, acryl amide (AA) and 2-hydroxy ethyl meth acrylate (2-HEMA) as monomers, divinyl benzene as a cross linker, and benzoyl peroxide as initiator, respectively. The same composition was used to prepare non-imprinted polymers (NIPs), but without the template (Tramadol hydrochloride). Different plasticizers were employed to prepare the membranes; tris (ethyl hexyl) phosphate (TEHP), tri Butyl phosphate (TBP), di-octyl phthalate (DOP) and nitrobenzene (NB) in PVC matrix. The electrode characteristics and properties were studied, including: slope, detection limit, life time and linearity range. The results of selectivity coefficient measurements using amino acids as interfering species showed no effect on tramadol electrode response. The prepared electrodes were intended for use in determining tramadol in pharmaceutical samples
The telecommunications industry has gone through series of development efforts to provide quality services to their consumers. Generally, telecommunication industry provides two main services such as telephony and internet which involved customer registration, billing and payment. However, the challenge confronting telecommunications industry is to meet the customer satisfaction in the billing system such as accuracy, easy to understand and unambiguous billing issue. In order to develop Customer Billing Telephony System,a user experience study is conducted to gather the user requirements. Hence, the CBTS was developed that takes into consideration user's value experience that provides a support for managing and monitoring billing process. Then the CBTS was evaluated by the users using User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) to prove the efficiency and correctness in billing process. The result shown that the users give the positive feedback of the CBTS.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
