The study of students’ academic performance has gained much recognition internationally where it has drawn the attention of educational researchers, particularly in the previous decade. As such, this study examined the impact of the environmental factors on student’s academic performance at the University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) city campus. It described three environmental factors, consisting of infrastructure and services; pollution and healthy environment and environmental hazard, with quality of life as a mediator. This is a survey type of study by distributing questionnaires randomly to 300 fourth-year students; however, only 200 returned and usable questionnaires were received. The study used the regression and correlation analysis to analyse the data. The result of the study shows that all variables significantly impacted academic performance of students. The result also indicates that all the variables were consequential in affecting the students’ quality of life (QoL). Since this is the first effort to look at the challenges at the UMK city campus, it offers useful inputs into the causes so that UMK and other academic institutions can take actions to provide a better environment and QoL for students in order for them to reach their fullest academic performance potential.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic that struck unexpectedly has reinforced the need for proper cash flow management by micro-businesses. It may be complicated for the business sector to differentiate between business and personal finances if there is no discipline or consistency in financial management. Therefore, this study examines the practice of cash flow management by micro-traders in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia, before 2020 and examines how their lives were affected during the freeze on economic activity. A quantitative research design was adopted, and the participants for the study were selected using the convenience sampling technique. A survey was conducted in November 2021, and 141 pieces of clean data were obtained. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software (SPSS) was used to generate descriptive statistics for data analysis. This study determined that micro-traders did not exhibit proper cash flow management, placing them in a critical financial situation when the pandemic crisis was prolonged. The movement control order and the extended COVID-19 pandemic that caused the economic downturn negatively impacted the cash flow of micro-traders and negatively affected their incomes and livelihoods.
The study focused on external factors of training, experience and internal expertise of the use of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) in three, four, and five star rated hotels. The data from the survey were collected through a postal questionnaire to senior accounting managers in three, four, and five star rated hotels. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS), which is the PLS-Graph Beta version 3.0. It was found that experience and internal expertise influenced the usage of the AIS, however, training was not significant to AIS users in the hotel industry in Malaysia. Using an extension of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study reveals the wide use of computerized accounting systems.
Maritime tourism is a niche market that provides maritime nations with an additional source of foreign exchange and employments. However, due to a lack of awareness of the significance of the maritime tourism sector, a very few studies have investigated the problems faced by this sub sector. Therefore, this paper aimed to identify the problems faced by the maritime tourism industry and propose solutions with which to overcome these obstacles. A bibliometric analysis technique was used to scour databases, such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS); with VOS Viewer. The content analysis was carried out and then coded using QSR International's NVivo 12. The paper found that the maritime tourism industry is currently plagued by six major problem clusters. These were classified as a) governmental and political supports, b) environmental issues, c) cooperation among stakeholders, d) maritime tourism law and policies, e) technological matters, and f) maritime tourism knowledge. Therefore, this present study proposes the development of a new market; the smart maritime tourism market; which is the most effective and efficient approach of overcoming the current issues. It is believed that smart maritime tourism will not only benefit maritime nations but also adjacent landlocked nations.
