The study aimed to reveal the difficulties of activating science laboratories in Palestinian and Jordanian secondary schools from the viewpoint of biology teachers in Jordanian public schools, in light of gender variables and years of experience. The study was conducted on a sample of Palestinian and Jordanian secondary school teachers affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Education. The study sample numbered (371) male and female teachers. During the second semester of the academic year (2018/2019).
The questionnaire was developed in its final form consisting of (42) paragraphs distributed into (5) areas, and from the recommendations of the study, equipping school laboratories and providing the tools and materials necessary for experiments in the school laboratory in sufficient quantities, and the necessity of reviewing the manual of activities and practical experiments in science courses in general and biology in particular ,in term of specialization and amending it in proportion to the time of the prescribed quota for biology.
Universities are major scientific and educational institutions, universities seek to achieve many goals in the academic, research and development of society, which has earned them importance in the field of scientific, technological and service progress; Universities provide scientific and educational research in all fields, this importance has forced universities to continuously strive to adapt and develop with the rapid growth in knowledge and technology.
The attention to total quality began during the last two decades of the last century. The problem of the study is determined in the following questions:
-What is the extent of applying TQM in Palestinian and Lebanese universities from the perspective of faculty members?
-Does the extent of the application of total quality management in the Palestinian and Lebanese universities vary according to the following variables: scientific rank, the college in which the faculty member works, and experience?
A random sample of faculty members is selected in Palestinian and Lebanese universities, where the size of the sample is (153) faculty members during the first academic year (2018/2019), and it is selected using a simple random sample. The study concludes that the application of total quality management in Palestinian and Lebanese universities is very high on the first dimension, where the level of response is 82%, and it is high on dimensions (2, 3) as it achieved (70% to 79%). The overall response rate is high in terms of percentage (78%).
The study concludes with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is that the top management in the Palestinian and Lebanese universities should sponsor the application of total quality management, and adopt the incentive system for university employees.
