COVID-19 pandemic have been spread around the world since the first outbreak on Desember 2019 in Wuhan, China. DKI Jakarta as one of the highest population density among 34 provinces in Indonesia, has become an endemic area of COVID-19 with the rate of new cases show some fluctuation for each month along 2020. This is a secondary data research which drawn from Health Ministry of Indonesia as well as Center of Statistics for DKI Jakarta. Focus and the scope of this paper is on analyzing the relation between new cases of COVID-19 with population density of Jakarta’s districts. Descriptive and inferential analysis that combined with Robust Regression Test are conducted due to some outliers data. This unbiased method shows a good regression model of spreading new positive cases. M-Estimator Robust Regression with Tukey Bisquare function, shows the best result with the least Residual Standar Error (RSE), that is 0.411. Analysis on statistical test for the chosen model shows that population density has significant impacts on outbreak pattern of COVID-19 in Jakarta. But mobilities and interactions betweeen citizens has also give a great impact.
Joining university for the first time is a challenging phase for first-year students. They are required to adapt not only to the academic context but to their personal, social, and emotional condition. The dynamics of college present a variety of challenges that arise as a result of the transition from high school to college. This study aims to analyze college adjustment of first-year students and the obstacles that arise from the academic, social, personal, and institutional dimensions. This study used mixed-method research. The sample was consisted of 235 first-year students of Al Azhar University (73.9% women) and filled out the Student Adaptation to College questionnaire. Qualitative data used purposive sampling to deepen the constraints felt by students in their first year. Semi structure interviews were conducted with 12 respondents to examine their experiences toward the first year of college. The results showed that 44.7% of first-year students had a low college adjustment level. Content analysis reveals that first-year students experienced varied academic, social, personal, and institutional problems. Therefore, the first-year student adapting process still needs attention from stakeholders.
The results of a survey by the Indonesian Psychology Student Association (ILMPI) show that students still do not understand the meaning of mental health services. Meanwhile, the results of the 2018 Basic Health Research stated that handling mental health is as important as physical health. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to get a picture of the attitudes of students in seeking psychological assistance in colleges. This mixed methods research was conducted at the University of Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI). Quantitative data was collected using a questionnaire on the attitude of seeking professional psychological assistance to 180 students, while the qualitative data were obtained using semi-open interviews with 12 students via telephone. The results showed that the students’ attitudes tended to be neutral in seeking psychological help; students are even less familiar with the existence of psychological services and have a negative stigma against psychological services, and the psychological service campaign that has been carried out is ineffective. In order to create students who are healthy physically and mentally, therefore, this article suggests some points. First, as mandated by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2014 concerning Mental Health, derivative regulations must be made at the level of ministerial regulation which mandates that universities should develop a strategy for the implementation of sustainable, implementative, comprehensive, and integrated youth psychological service units in universities. Second, Commission X DPR RI should oversee the process of forming these derivative regulations and supervise their implementation.
Introduction. The numbers of students with special needs studying in regular classes is increasing every year. This increase has consequences for teachers, who must manage classrooms to meet the students’ diverse needs and characteristics. The contributing factor to successful inclusive education is teachers’ self-efficacy in practicing it. Successful implementation of inclusive education, on the other hand, classroom management can be viewed as performance influenced by the extent to which teachers are involved in their work, that is, teachers’ “engagement.” Method. This quantitative correlational study aimed to determine whether teachers’ engagement mediates self-efficacy in inclusive practice and classroom management. A total of 242 inclusive primary school teachers in DKI Jakarta-Indonesia, completed three self-report questionnaires. Results. Teachers’ engagement significantly acts as mediator in the correlation between teachers’ self-efficacy and their classroom management. Discussion and Conclusion. Using motivational process in the job-demand model, results show that teachers’ self-efficacy functions as a personal resource in implementing inclusive education. This means that teachers’ self-efficacy conducted by teachers first raises the condition of the teacher involved in the role of work, before finally influencing the extent to which the teacher managed the classroom. Therefore that overall student, including students with special needs, get the optimal educational benefits.
